New Notes & Noises celebrates one year

It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since the foundation of New Notes & Noises. We’d like to mark our first anniversary by saying a big thank-you to all of our donors, the Trustees for their service on the Board, and to all those people who have supported us in other ways.

The team for the November 2016 workshop presentation (L to R): Libby Burgess (pianist), Di Sherlock (librettist and director), Clare McCaldin (mezzo), Robin Bailey (tenor), Damian Thantrey (baritone), Martin Ward (composer)

Our inaugural commission is The Ubiquitous Woman, in support of our aim to promote the highest quality performances of new work and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

We’re delighted to announce that Kate Romano (right) will be working as our Producer on The Ubiquitous Woman, alongside the existing creative team. As well as producing her own work through her company Goldfield Productions, Kate is a fantastic clarinettist with a busy performing career. She also blogs about her work and related issues in the music industry. Kate’s contribution to our project will be invaluable and we’re looking forward very much to working with her.

In the next twelve months we will be undertaking further fund-raising activity and planning the production and performance venues with a view to a full staging in 2019. Thank you for being with us at the very beginning of our work. We hope that you will stay involved as we develop.
